Stocks in the US fell again
Stocks in the US fell for third consecutive day as Dell the computer maker reported a sharp drop and D R Horton, the homebuilder reported a loss wider than expected. The investors took weaker than expected results as a further indication that the recovery would be very weak.
Sasha Kostadinov, portfolio manager and research analyst at Shaker Investments in Cleveland, Ohio said: "While it appears to us that the recession is over, there are a lot of lingering signs of pain on Main Street. Unemployment is very high, lots of people out of work and that is still causing significant stress."
Dow Jones finished 14 points lower at 10,318. The S&P 500 index finished 4 points lower at 1,091. Nasdaq was down 11 points at 2,146.
