How To Invest - Investing Strategies

Alright guys, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to the stock market. I graduated college with a bachelors in business administration and have a masters degree in special education. I am currently 24 years old and a teacher. I'm looking to begin investing in the stock market but don't really have much of an idea where to start. I plan to start this thread and gather some advice/thoughts and also read and do my homework at the same time. Is it too early for me to start? What would be your advice to Me? I want to invest small amounts to begin with to get a feel and a better understanding on the system. What would your advice be to me? If you were 24 years old and new to the stock market what would you do?
