Repair Strategy for Broken Options Trades

I was wondering if there is a repair strategy for broken option trades. My main question is if an investor bought an in the money call and guessed wrong, what recourse would he/she have (other than selling that call or getting long the stock at expiration) to limit losses or even make money?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Bryan
